Pros: Bright colours, comes with storage bucket.
Cons: Expensive, difficult to manipulate, not played with.
The Bottom Line: This toy just did not go over well in my home, I suggest letting your child try it out first before spending the money.

| victoriasmum's Full Review: Discovery Toys Bright Builders Starter Set |
It is not very often that I come across a Discovery Toy product that I do not like, and unfortunately the Bright Builders quickly fell into this very category. I purchased these excitedly awaiting my daughters enthusiasm when they would arrive…it never did come.
The Discovery Toys Bright Builders are a building toy that includes 24 star shaped disks that allow children to ‘build’ in any of six possible directions. It is kind of like a high tech Lego. For the high price of $29.99CDN I was really expecting some real fun. The Bright Builders comes with a bucket to hold the disks in and the lid from the bucket doubles as a play base to build your creations. The disks are very brightly coloured in hot pink, bright green, yellow, blue and orange. They definitely live up to there name, the colours definitely get a childs attention.
Ok, so it sounds good, it looks good, so what went wrong you ask? Well mainly just one thing, my daughter did not have any interest in this toy. When we first introduced it to her she was 3years old (recommended age is 3 years and up) she got extremely frustrated trying to connect these things never mind actually build anything. These disk are extremely hard to link together, I find them difficult too. You really need to hold the one still that you are pushing another onto. She would push one into the base and as soon as she would try to add on from that the original bottom one would fall over from the pressure of the next one being pushed on. She really had to work to get them to push together at all. We tried over and over to bring interest to this toy. We put it away thinking she was not old enough for it and took it out a few months later, she would eagerly try again only to be frustrated and disappointed yet again when she seemed incapable. We tried this a few times over the course of a year. After a year of having the Bright Builders in our home, I had to give up. I called my Discovery Toys consultant and she happily took them back for me in exchange for something else.
I would really honestly have to tell anyone to skip the Bright Builders and buy a whole bunch of Lego instead. I am just happy that Discovery Toys has a lifetime guarantee so my money was not wasted.
