You may not love the quality of the prints that this model produces, however if you need a job done fast it can produce. This is an inkjet printer.
I had trouble setting up this printer because the paper output tray is confusing. After setup, though the machine performs well. In Express Mode, the monochrome prints were done at a rate of 9 ppm like the speeds in a laser printer. Color output was equally speedy and impressive at 4 ppm. This means you have more time to look at the prints than waiting for them to print out.
This machine can be compared to Cannon S450 and Epson Stylus Color 880 because they all have four individual ink color cartridges. This helps to conserve ink and to save money. This model will alert you when the ink is dry and it won't print until the empty cartridge is replaced.
The bad news for this model is that maximum resolution is 1,200 x 1,200 for color and black prints. Color prints come out blurry but black is clear and sharp. In black, it prints so fast that it is good for tougher jobs.
There is no free software with this model, but you can pick out two titles form a few categories. There is also a $5.95 shipping charge for the software. Additional programs cost $9.95 each.
This is a great machine if you want your prints fast but you will sacrifice quality.
