Pros: Scent, non-aerosol, decent price
Cons: Didn't work and left sticky residue
The Bottom Line: Dove Flexible Hold may work if you live somewhere that doesn't have any wind. It's lack of performance when it's even slightly wind challenged is disappointing.

| cmaw63's Full Review: Dove Flexible Hold Non Aerosol Hairspray with Natu... |
I have, almost, given up on finding a hairspray that will keep my hairstyle in place. I decided to try a brand name that I knew and trusted in a final bid to get my hair to do more than what the wind wanted it to do. Dove was the brand name I chose.
Dove Flexible Hold Non-Aerosol Hairspray with Natural Movement
Ok, so I know to "go with the flow" as windy as it is here in the flatlands of Illinois. I was hoping for a hairspray that would at the least let my hair fall back into the style I had arranged when I was able to get out of the wind. Did I find it? In one word...no.
Let's start at the beginning...
After washing and blow drying my hair, I would style it and use Dove Flexible Hold Non-Aerosol Hairspray with Natural Movement as the final touch. As long as I was inside my home, I had the hold and hairstyle I wanted.
Exit stage left...
As soon as I went outside into the wind...and there is always some type of breeze here, it just varies in miles per hour with 10 to 15 mph being the average...anyway, my hair would blow like crazy. Ok, that's going to happen no matter what. As soon as I would get seated in my vehicle I would try to brush my hair into some semblance of the style I had worked so hard to achieve. I say try, because with the hairspray in my thick hair and the tangles from the wind, it was more like a hair massacre. The slight stickiness of the hairspray was just enough to pull out any style and leave me with limp, yucky hair.
I tried spraying less...I tried spraying more. Either way was useless. What felt like dry hairspray would become tacky and cause more tangles and flat spots than if I had gone without.
Maybe...
I'm expecting too much. All I want is a hairspray that will allow my hair to fall back into style easily and without sticky tangles. I really thought Dove would do a better job of it than it did. Ahhhhh...just read the back of the bottle..."they never leave hair too stiff or sticky." I'm sorry, what's considered too sticky? If it's me, I believe Dove Flexible Hold qualifies for "too sticky".
Did I Like Anything?
I liked the salon type scent. You know...that fresh, just got my hair done at a salon smell? That's one of the two things I liked.
The other? It's non-aerosol. It's a pump spray that gives more direction control than a spray the whole bathroom aerosol can gives.
The price was decent at $3.79 for the 9.25 oz bottle at my local store. It would have been a steal...if it had worked.
