Pros: Almost a mid-fat, this ski will handle all of the west...
Cons: Sking the east? Not your best pick...
The Bottom Line: The big is among the first true western skis- able to go anywhere and do anything with grace and skill.

| RONinPC's Full Review: Dynastar Intuitive Big Alpine Skis |
A long time ago, I skied on long skis.
I wanted to say that because today, if you told me to ski on a pair of 210's, I'd think you were nuts... but I used to ski 'em long.
And there was a period when I thought that there was a limit to fat skis. That if they were too fat, they could not do certain things well (and I was right, but give me some room here to explain myself).
The issue is, or was I guess, that I allowed myself to predjudice my opinion. I believe that a skier should be able to ski everything in the style that is best suited to the task. I think a course should be skied the way racers ski, and bumps should be skied like a mogul skier skis. Groomers are for carving, Powder is for... well, you get it.
Last week, we had a great storm in Utah...two feet of fresh and low skier numbers. I grabbed the Intuitive Big in a 188 and headed for the trees. Three days of trees and crud, and I could not think of a thing I'd change about the Intuitive Big as a powder ski. But you knew that already... that is why they made it, right?
And while I had them on my feet, I skied some groomers. Steep, Icy, Chatter-ready terrain. It was not for several runs that I realized that I was not skiing the turns I would make on my Speed 63's. I was skiing the Bigs with exactly the same mechanics I'd have used on my old 205 Blizzard X-Zero's, or 210 K2 TNC's. It felt great, like hearing an old favorite on the radio, and singing along without even realizing that you know the words. I figured out then and there that wide is not bad, just different, and that "wide" skis a lot like "long" did. They did not chatter, they were smooth and quiet, stable and strong.
What I learned is that the Intuitive Big is easily the most comfortable ski-almost-everywhere ski I have experienced. It does not make short turns like the 63 does, it makes them like the Big does. It is also not going to win many races. It does not ski the bumps like a bump ski does. It does go almost everywhere though, and that is a pretty cool thing.
There is a review on this web site where I said that the 4x4 Big was a great ski, but that you should own a pair of real skis too, and I was wrong. You could easily ski the Big all over, all day long and have fun (I did). Have at 'em.
