| Ellie41799's Full Review: Enfamil Lacto-Free |
Enfamil Lacto-Free was my daughter's ninth formula. Yes, she has been on NINE different formula's in her 6 months of life! Most of the prior formula's didn't work well with her digestive system. But I am beginning to think that the reason they didn't work well is that her digestive system wasn't developed enough. I say that because now, she seems to handle most formula's I offer her.
We are on the WIC program which is a nutritional program for Low to moderate income families. So, they pay for the majority of her formula. But, I still have to purchase about 9 cans of formula a month. Since we are on a very tight income, I am always looking for good deals. So, one day I was at the store and I decided to purchase Enfamil Lacto-Free. Why? You ask. Well, it was the cheapest of all the Enfamil Formula's and I had a coupon for it, so I thought it wouldn't hurt!
How My Daughter Reacted To Enfamil Lacto-Free
At the first feeding of Lacto-Free, my daughter showed no negative reactions to it. She drank it down, like her other formula. She didn't vomit it up, like she did with Enfamil Nutramigen. She drank it fully and seemed happy and content. For the rest of the day, she was her same ole happy self! In the days following, she didn't have any problems being constipated like with Enfamil Prosoybee. She seemed to like it!
Product Information
Enfamil Lacto-Free is a formula that contains NO LACTOSE. Many babies and adults, as well are lactose intolerant and having food that contains Lactose can be very painful and uncomfortable. It can cause stomach pain, constipation, and gas.
You can purchase Enfamil Lacto-Free in several varieties:
14 oz can of powder- That is what I usually purchase. It usually lasts us 2 days. It retails at my local grocery store for $5.69. But, I always have coupons, so I never pay full price!
32 fl oz cans of ready to use- I have tried this a few times. It is very convenient, because you don't have to mix the powder and the water together. You just put it in the bottle and that is it! It retails at my local grocery for $2.69. One can of this lasts about one day.
13 fl oz of Concentrate- I have never used this kind. You have to add part water to make the formula.
Single Serving Packets- This is easy if you like powder, but you don't like the measuring. You just open it up and pour it in the bottle and add water. No measuring with the powder.
Should Your Child Switch To Lacto-Free?
I would first consult a doctor if you think your baby is Lactose Intolerant. There might be other problems besides being lactose intolerant. But indications that your child might be Lactose Intolerant are:abdominal cramping, bloating, fussiness, gas, mild diarrhea.
