| katlynn58's Full Review: Eureka Lite 4331 Bagged Upright Vacuum |
When my son brought home the Eureka Boss Lite 4331 this past June, I was extremely impressed with the price. He works at "Target" and found this product on clearance for 40.00. Assembly was very simple, the bag, belt ,and main body is already done upon purchase. Just attach the handle and you ready to roll in under 10 minutes.
With my first use of the vacuum I liked the results and ease of use. It is very lightweight and easy to maneuver. The tools included a crevice tool, a small brush attachment and extension hoses for hard to reach places. There are seven different height adjustments and this made it easy to go from the carpet to my tile bath and kitchen floors for quick pick up before mopping. All in all at this point I was thrilled with the product and ready to tell all my friends about the wonderful bargain.
I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment so to completely vacuum my home can take all of 15-30 minutes depending on whether I move any furniture. Typically I run the vacuum twice a week , as with 2 adults it's not usually necessary any more often than that.
At about the 5 week point I began to notice balls of fuzz not being picked up by the vacuum but rather pushed around instead and I had to pick them up by hand. I have newer carpet and still get the new carpet fuzz. Otherwise there is not much more to pick up besides dust. Shortly after this began I found the first belt burned up so I took the vacuum apart and replaced the belt. Upon inspection of the hoses leading to the bag from the floor I found it was completely plugged up. So I cleaned the fuzz and dust out which is all that I found in the hose and reassembled the vacuum and turned it on again...second belt burned immediately. The roller bottom was turning properly too as I had it positioned where I could view if it was working all right as well. At this point I also noticed smoke coming from the motor.
Now it's August and my Eureka Boss Lite 4331 is all of 3 months old and I am to say the least very disappointed. I can use it but it requires a lot of attention and maintenance changing belts before and unplugging hoses after each use. On the bright side I haven't had to replace the bag yet , as it doesn't pick up that much.
I would NOT recommended the purchase of the Eureka Boss Lite 4331 regardless of the low price. End the end you will be out shopping for another vacuum and out the investment on this one......
