shippo225's Full Review: Sanford Expo Dry Erase Marker Four Color Set Bulle...
What's The Meaning Of This?:
.....If I recall, the word EXPO derives from the word EXPOSITION. I looked this up on Dictionary.com and found that it meant 'A setting forth of intent or meaning.' Well, I do believe Sanford found the perfect name for these markers. EXPO dry-erase markers greatly hold true to this definition of their name. They let you write with such a boldness that the your writing gets through to everyone. Now that we know the definition of EXPO, let's move on to the review.
Here, There, and Everywhere:
.....The Expo dry-erase markers can be found in more places than the classroom whiteboard. I use them at home everyday on my little whiteboard. I don't do homework on them (I don't even do homework at home) but I use them when practicing my Japanese hiragana, katakana and kanji. When I'm doing that, I can fill the whole 2x3 board full and erase it about a hundred times an hour, hypothetically speaking. So I need to have markers that will work with me constantly and not die out on me when I'm working.
.....Expo is the only brand of marker you will find at my school in every classroom. Each marker must draw about five miles of lines and letters each day. Even with constant abuse and writing, they are still hanging around months down the road, hangin' strong, hangin' long.
Colors:
.....Expo markers come in a variety of colors, but this pack consists of blue, green, red and black. It works when writing, but doesn't give the color array to draw pictures. There aren't any colors like yellow that just don't show up, giving it a plus. I find it very pointless to buy a yellow marker to write on a whit board, leaving it unnoticeable. But still, these four basic marker colors are all I need to get by in this cruel world. (Kidding).
Time To Carve The Board!!:
..No, we aren't carving the board, but we are writing with a chisel tip. The Expo dry-erase markers have a chisel tip that allows you to write in three thicknesses. When you hold the marker with the felt tip entirely on the board, you get a nice wide, quarter-inch line. Turn the marker ninety degrees and you get a medium line. And last, turn it ninety more degrees and use the tip to write a finer line. Chances are you'll probably always use the widest because it is just habit. The chisel tip isn't a trademark of Expo, most markers for whiteboards are like this.
Lifespan:
..This would probably be the most important part of the grading process, LIFESPAN. I hate wasting money on dry-erase markers that die out after a few weeks. It can be very expensive. The Expo brand markers last a heII of a site longer than most other brand markers out there. From the first line to the last, you will get a full line with heavy, glossy color. These markers last forever, virtually. They pour out color like there's no tomorrow, making you think it'd die out in no time, but they just don't.
..CAP: One factor that greatly influences the lifespan of the marker is whether or not you leave the cap on or not, when the marker is not in use. These dry-erase markers will last for a long time if you remember to cap them. If you leave the cap off when not in use then it will probably go dead after a day or so. To help you remember, there is a thing on the back-end of the marker that has a fitting to hold the cap when using so you can just put it back on when done.
Pure Erasure:
.....Now here is something that makes other markers suck. When you go to erase some dry-erase markers, they leave a dim line behind. What's the point of a dry-erase marker if it leaves a line when erased? Expo dry-erase markers erase cleanly without leaving that pesky outline behind. If you leave marker on the board for extended periods of days or so, then they might be a little adhered to the board. If you have problems erasing a mark, just use a wet rag or EXPO WHITEBOARD CLEANER.
Other Useful/less Information:
- Certified AP Nontoxic
- Conforms to ASTM D4236
- Made by the Sanford Company

Time To Wrap:
..In the end, Expo dry-erase markers cut the cake. They are one of the top brands on the market. They work great, have a long lifespan, erase completely, and have a nice full fill in the writing. These markers are not skimpy whatsoever in ink release or anything. I have a set of Boone dry-erase markers and some of these Expo markers, and though I like both brands, Expo would be a more of a favorite on my list. Go get yourself some.
