The soda makers are great but their refill process with the carbonators is ridiculous. They refuse to use ups, fedex, or any other reliable service and all they have is their "courier" who will show up at any time of the day or night. (My initial delivery came at 10 pm on a Sunday night, unannounced, just some random guy at my door.)
When I needed to order new carbonators, I was told to leave my old ones outside my door and that at some point in the next seven days my new ones would be delivered. I told them that since I live in New York City, leaving the old ones outside the door wasn;t a good idea--they surely wouldn't still be there five days later. As for the new ones, same thing--someone would need to be there to sign for the package, they couldnt just leave it.
I asked if they could tell me what day the delivery guy would come so I could make arrangements and they said they could only give me a 5 day window. Apparently SodaClub thinks that everyone has a doorman or someone in the family who can sit and wait for a deliver from 9-6 for five days straight.
Even the cable company and the phone company tell you what day their representative will come!
I offered to pay for UPS for the new carbonators and to return the old ones and they refused. I wasted $300 on a soda machine that we now can't use. Total rip off.
