Purchasing Decision
While shopping at PetCo, I found that Fancy Feast was starting to sell a food option with good ingredients, and I was intrigued. After taking a look at the ingredients in several of the Fancy Feast Appetizer options, I ended up purchasing about 10 of the two ounce packages in order to let my cats try them all out. They have since turned out to be quite a worthwhile, and repeated purchase that I thought I should point out to other consumers as probably the best food that Purina or Fancy Feast has put out on the market.
Appearance of the Food
It definitely looked like a "fishy" option as soon as we opened the package, and the pieces of food were pretty easy to spot, including the chunks of shrimp in the cat food. It almost appeared like something that could be served a dish at a gumbo restaurant, and that's to say that the food wasn't gross in appearance. The fish did have an odor to it though, so those with sensitive noses might not want to spend too much time smelling it.
Cat's Opinion of the Fancy Feast Seabass & Shrimp Appetizer in a Delicate Broth
It is typically the case that if a food has a "fishy" smell to it, that our cats are going to enjoy eating it. That was exactly the case with this version of the Fancy Feast Appetizers. There was just enough food in one of the packages to completely fill up each of the three cats for a meal. The food isn't necessarily intended to be served as a meal in itself, but in a pinch you could definitely make them very happy with this food. One of our cats licked up all of the broth that was covering to food before focusing on the fish pieces, and the other two enjoyed just mowing through the entire dish without thinking too much about saving the bigger pieces for the end.
Final Recommendation on the Fancy Feast Seabass & Shrimp Appetizer in a Delicate Broth
The key to a food like this, is that you know you are getting some higher quality ingredients, and most of the time the cats end up liking it more than if you went for a cheaper option on the market. Out cats loved this option, and it made us quite pleased that it was also good for them. The Fancy Feast Seabass & Shrimp Appetizer in a Delicate Broth was something that all three of them liked, and it had been quite affordable to purchase the packages in the first place.
There was nothing that we didn't like about this Fancy Feast option, and we just wish that more cat food companies would actually spend the time coming up with good foods like this that cats will actually like. We have already purchased this version of the Fancy Feast Appetizers again, and its something that we definitely give a high recommendation to as a healthy food for cats.
