If you've read some of my reviews, you know I'm an outdoorsy type woman. If you haven't read any besides this one...I'm an outdoorsy type woman. Anyway, I love fishing and camping and rarely get a sunburn. I say rarely because last summer I earned myself a sunburn like I hadn't had since I was a silly teenager who lived at the community pool.
We (my husband and I) were fishing at Argyle Lake State Park during a 100 F heatwave. I thought I would be fine between using sunscreen and anchoring the boat along the shoreline to take advantage of the tree's shade. I thought...2 of my most dangerous words.
I didn't realize how bad I was sunburned until after we started for home. I couldn't move without stinging, burning pain and stiffness. Never having been this burnt in my adult life I wanted relief...and had heard aloe vera would work wonders...but I've heard that about a lot of things that didn't live up to expectations. We stopped at a Wal-Mart to see what I could find...
What I Found Was... Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera 100% Gel. I bought a 24 oz. clear plastic bottle of the stuff for $5.49. It does state on it that I was receiving "100% More Free, contains NO alcohol". It has a thick, almost pudding like, consistency and is odorless.
Not wanting to smear the gel on me while riding in our truck, in case it stained, I suffered until I got home. At home, I immediately started slathering the aloe vera everywhere I needed relief. Wow, it was chilly against my sizzling skin. It felt a little greasy, but after a few minutes it absorbed into my skin leaving no sticky feeling. I waited an hour and put more on for, hopefully, added relief as I was still burning.
I was able to find a measure of comfort and get to sleep. The next morning I woke up to find...no redness of my skin, no burning and no pain! Another bonus is I didn't dry out and peel. Why in the world isn't everyone using Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera 100% Gel? It's a miracle!
Oh yeah, it didn't stain my sheets, I should have applied it in the truck!!
We now use this aloe gel for minor burns, itching bug bites and other minor skin problems. Now that I've found Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera 100% Gel this household will never be without it again!
