| hardinr's Full Review: Gerber Nuk Classic Pacifier |
I was one of those people who thought that my baby wouldn't need a pacifier (though I wasn't against them.) I had been given a nuk in my birthing class. What a miracle that was. After three weeks of zero sleep I attempted to give my daughter a pacifier. It came right back out. In my frustration I remembered the nuk I had hidden in the bottom of my diaper bag. After washing and sterilizing I tried to give it to her. Oh dear God it was a miracle. It was like instant peace. After that she would fall asleep and stay asleep in the middle of the night. Maybe it was just coincidence but I'll take it.
This pacifier is the only one my daughter will take. They come in several different color schemes. So if I give her the pink one I don't get quite so many 'Is it a boy or a girl?' questions. The shape of the pacifier is very nice, unlike others it doesn't squish her little nose. It also has two holes for drool drainage. The handle is useful for attaching it to holders. I personally like the look of these compared to many others.
However I did find the latex harder to clean than the silicone. Latex can also cause allergies which I did not have a problem with.
Overall I highly recommend this pacifier to any parent. My daughter breastfeeds and has occasional bottles (for vitamins and Grandma's house.) She has never had a problem switching between the three.
