This book was recommended to me by a friend. I picked it up and really enjoyed it. I've always been a fan of historical fiction, and the author does a good job of fleshing out historical facts with a compelling story. The main character is very likable and I empathized with her immediately.
Girl with a Pearl Earing is an easy read. I finished it in two days. It's good if you're looking for a quick read, but although it's fun, it isn't particularly deep. Overall, this is a good book, but not a masterpiece of modern fiction.
