Pros: Fine for dry roads....and dry roads only!
Good ride and relatively quiet.
Cons: Absolutely the worst on wet, icy, or slushy roads!!
The Bottom Line: Avoid this tire if you value your life and auto!

| swb's Full Review: Goodyear Eagle RSA Passenger/Performance Tire |
Goodyear Eagle RS-A were the stock tires on my new 2003 Ford Focus ZTW wagon and they are simply the worst tires I have ever experienced in over 30 years of driving on many types of vehicles! If you have a Focus with these tires....get rid of them as quickly as possible and COMPLAIN LOUDLY TO THE FORD MOTOR CORP.!!
Shortly after getting our new wagon, my wife mentioned how the car behaved in a very wet parking lot. Did I listen??? No...being the typical male, I thought it must be the way she accelerated with this peppy little wagon (which I really like). Then, on a trip over Thanksgiving, we ran into clear but slightly icy road conditions on interstate 390 near Dansville, NY. The car felt like it was hydroplaning even as I reduced my speed to 30 mph. Ok, I thought....most cars don't like ice. But, this past week, I was returning from a trip to MD, and I encountered many slushy, icy, and wet roads......and I lost total confidence in the car. Minivans and small cars were blowing by me as I was white knuckled doing 30 mph. I had to confess to my wife, and tell her it was either new tires or the car would have to go. Since we live in western NY, I decided to go for a set of Nokia snow tires. WHAT A DIFFERENCE...the car feels like a SUV, and the stopping time on an icy parking lot was quite good.
OK...no fair comparing snow tires to all-season tires....I agree. But, I am very sure that when I put a good set of summer tires on, they will outperform the Eagles. In the meantime, I am complaining to Ford, my local dealer, and anywhere else necessary to make sure others don't get hurt or killed using these tires on vehicles that are so poorly matched for the tire.
