I spent quite some time investigating highchairs so I could get the best chair for my four month old son. I finally decided on the Double Tray Highchair. I liked the idea of the snack tray and that it folded to storage. The snug fit of the cloth cover was a bonus. Then I took the chair home.
After we put the chair together and put our son in it we knew immediately it was going to be returned. Our son is four and half months old weighs 20 lbs and is 29 inches long. Basically he's the size of an eight month old and he was just to big. When he was sitting in the seat there wasn't enough room to reach between his legs to get the crotch strap and the bar for the snack tray. He just fit in the chair. I was so upset, but happy he's the size he is because had he not been a big baby I know we'd be buying a second chair by his first birthday.
The chair is rated up to 37 pounds but be very aware of the seat size and the limited area between the snack tray bar and the back of the seat. If at all possible try your child out in the highchair prior to purchasing it and make special note of how little room there is for growth.
I wish the seat had been different because I really liked the design of the chair. I ended up with a different model that I just don't like as well, but at least my son is comfortable and will be able to use it for more then a few months.
