| xuvetyn's Full Review: Grand Central Baking Co. |
I have a love affair with bread products. I probably eat more from the grains food group than all the other food group combined. Thus you can trust me when I say Grand Central's breads are yummy. This is one of the best places for fresh bread in Portland. You'll often see delis around town boasting that they use Grand Central's bread. And no wonder - their loaf breads are wonderfully soft, chewy and delicious. Their breakfast items are great too, ranging from cinnamon rolls to bread pudding to scones. They also offer sandwiches. And of course, coffee and other such drinks can be had here - I don't believe they have Coke or Pepsi products though. They don't serve any soups, unlike their station in NE, which is a shame - bread dunked in hot soup is next door to heaven. Eating inside can only be done on barstools at a bar that wraps around the window at one end of the bakery. Outside there is plenty of patio seating.
Service: Friendly counter service from goateed twentysomethings.
