Pros: Long lasting, synergizes the small candle light, inexpensive and easily found.
Cons: The tub candles tend to go fast so get a bunch!
The Bottom Line: I recommend the GSI candle lantern to any outdoors person for their tent camping gear. I would also recommend this lantern for any home emergency kit.

GSI Red Candle Lantern - Enamelware
This year I purchased two new candle lanterns; the UCO 9 hour candle lantern and the GSI Candle lantern. I have had a chance to use both of them for several hours and I like both of them. The GSI candle lantern is used for the small emergency tub / tea candles in tin cups. The design of this GSI lantern is quite clever. It takes a small candle and generates a small area of 360 degree light. These tub or tea candles last an hour (give or take a few minutes) depending on what brand you purchase. I like the design because of its simplicity and it's practical. The top of the lantern slides off the glass globe / chimney and handle. Then let handle down and remove the glass globe. Place the tub candle in the holder and replace the glass globe. Now lift the handle vertical and slide the lantern cap / top over the handle. Once the cap is placed over the handle it all locks together. It's a solid design and kind of nifty.
Features
~ Very durable body, with a baked red enamelware shell ~ Replaceable glass chimney ~ Inexpensive emergency or camp lighting ~ GSI is known for its quality outdoors products - Quality name brand ~ This lantern is light, weight wise but too bulky for packing / Alpine trips. ~ Approximately four inches wide and seven inches high.
Conclusion
I have many GSI outdoors products and they are quality, this lantern is no acceptation. I am satisfied with the little tub lantern. I must say I have been spoiled by the performance of the UCO nine hour candle lantern. The GSI Red Candle Lantern would be good for car / tent camping or home emergencies. Just remember you need several packs of the small candles as they tend to burn fast. The GSI lantern also looks sharp with its old fashioned baked red enamel look. These lanterns and candles can be found at any sporting goods store on or off line. It would make a good addition to any camping gear or household emergency kit. For the best light, the glass globe should be cleaned with a wash cloth and warm soapy water after each use. It'll come in real handly if the lights go out and your flash light batteries are dead!
Warnings
•· Lantern gets very hot and contains fire. Keep away from young children •· Never leave any candle unattended
