Pros: Duplex printing. HP reliability. Ease of use.
Cons: Noisy loading. Gray color.
The Bottom Line: Great printer, but I'll go for the 960's speed and color.

| artisan69's Full Review: Hewlett Packard DeskJet 970c InkJet Printer |
I purchased the HP 970 cxi to be used with a new system I will be getting in March. It replaces the ole reliable 722c,(my son will now enjoy that workhorse). The first thing I noticed when I got it out of the box was the color. It is the dark gray of HP's new line of puters. I am not the fashion police here, but it looks lousy with the other components not being grey or blue or any of the other cutesy schemes going around these days. The hookup and installation was a snap, HP includes a poster chart. The USB cabling is not included nor is the parallel for that matter. Use USB if you can, it is easier to install and faster. The loading and discharge of paper is VERY NOISY. The printing is crisp, clear and the few photo's I've done turned out stunning. The duplex printing is awesome, but be sure to use the proper paper.
I will take this one back and coordinate my colors. ha ha Ill get the 960 for its speed and spring for the duplex add on.
