| grandpa_riot's Full Review: Hamburger Habit |
This is new to me. I usually don't get into food or restaurants here. However, Hamburger Habit is one place I just have to write a review on. It's great. I'm not much of a hamburger eating guy, but this place is just so good everytime. It's really the little differences that matter.
Hamburger Habit is located in Los Angeles. I'm really not sure how many locations there are, but it's not a big chain. The main restaurant is on Sepulveda and National.
So what's so special about their burgers? Well, they're kosher. There's no blood... I think that's what it means. This makes a huge difference in the taste. Usually, I would say that all burgers taste the same. However, Hamburger Habit really changed my opinion (or should I say epinion?) on that. In fact, ever since I went to Hamburger Habit, I haven't been able to fully enjoy any other burgers. The meat really is that good (and, yes, the title of the review is a joke).
If you're not much of a burger eater, they still have a few other items on the menu. Hotdogs, sandwiches, even lentil soup, for all of you vegetarians! And, for dessert, they have apple pie, ice cream, shakes. It's all really great. But why would you go to a place called Hamburger Habit if you weren't much of a burger eater?
To drink, they have Coca Cola, and the many products by coke. They have freshly squeezed orange juice. They also have shakes.
Alright, so Kosher Burgers. "They probably have them at lots of places," you may say. Yeah, that's probably true. But, there are also more, small differences. For example, Hamburger Habit toasts their buns, so that they're a little crunchy. The burgers are never greasy, and it's the same with the fries. If you're a fan of fatty, greasy food, then you may not like Hamburger Habit as much as you should, but you'll still like it.
Now, the place really has great service. All of the people who work there are nice. After you go there for a while, they really remember you, and you feel like you belong every time you walk in (Kind of like Cheers: where everyone knows your name). Also, they keep the place really clean. They're constantly wiping tables down right after people leave, mopping, cleaning. There's almost always someone out cleaning around the tables to make sure they're all clean. The sign they have there is true: "You can eat off of the floor."
The place is also entertaining to go to. You go for the burgers, you stay for the entertainment. They have 2 TVs, both equipped with cable (or at least at the one on Sepulveda and National). They also have humorous signs over the place, like one that says "Get a free meal if you're 90 years old and come in with both parents." And in the bathroom, they have a joke sign with stick figure people (like the street signs), and they say "No smoking, No graffiti, no breaking wind, and no misfiring." Each statement has an example picture with a slash through it, so you know not to do it.
And, finally, the restaurant is fun for the whole family. There is a kids menu, for the kids, and the guys who work there sometimes give crayons and pictures to color to children. They have colored pictures hanging up on the wall next to the bathroom. Also, they give candy to children after they eat. Makes me wish I was 6 again.
To conclude, Hamburger Habit is far beyond most other hamburger joints. The food is some of the best, and they are critically acclaimed for it (there are awards hanging up all over the place). The service is spectacular, the place is always clean. It's the perfect place to eat, no matter what time or day it is. Even if you just ate there 3 hours ago!
