adding memory (Reply to this comment)
by jojocuarto
Hi,
Thanks so much for an awesome review. I stumbled upon this after I bought the computer so I felt validated knowing that I bought something great. Thanks again!!!
Anyway, I was thinking of adding 4 more gigs of memory so I can top out at 8 gigs. This certain site has 4 gigs on sale for about $60 with the following specs:
DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000)
The memory that comes with our computer is rated at PC2 6400. Is it ok to mix these or would you forsee problems if I add the new memory? Also, should I really think about upgrading the power supply to at least 500W?
Thanks,
J

Thanks!
Sorry for the slow response. I tried to respond to your comment the other day and was having some issues with Epinions.
sfernan,
No issues (at all) playing movies or less intense video games.
I frequently leave it in sleep mode. The computer has been great to me.
I have decoded standard DVDs with excellent speed. PC does not have a HD or Blu-Ray drive unless you add one.
Good luck with your decision, I was happy with my choice when I purchased in April 2008 and still am.

Mike,
Thanks for the detailed specs on this system. I have never seen a review that dissected a system so much.
Hows the M9250 keeping up. I am so close to buying it. Have you come across any issues playing movies or less-intensive games. I plan on using this primarily as a HTPC to view DVDs, AVIs, movies encoded with Hi-def codecs.
Thanks for any suggestions

Todays Update (Reply to this comment)

The only update to this review was a link provided to my now reviewed "Nvidia 8800GT Superclocked" video card.
Nothing has changed since original posting of review, I'm still happy!
