| seattlety's Full Review: Hilton Garden Inn Fort Wayne |
So, I was coming to Fort Wayne with my family for a family reunion and we decided to try out the Hilton garden Inn after a recommendation from a family member. We were incredibly pleased at this very clean, modern, and friendly hotel.
First Impressions/Check In
The hotel is located directly off I-69 and US 24 West surrounded by all the essential shopping and dining. There is a Bob Evans, Walgreens, etc. Everything you need. Coming into the hotel I expected the very standard, sterile business-hotel feel and I was very wrong. I felt like I had come into a very comfortable, even luxurious hotel. The lobby is very well decorated, and comfortable. The design is very sleek and modern and the layout was great. The staff was incredibly friendly on our check-in and very accommodating.
Our Room
We had a standard 2 queen bed room. Yet again, my expectations were not very high and I was very pleased. The room was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. The furniture is modern, with an ergonomic desk chair, large wooden desk, and stylish armchair with ottoman. The room also was very large. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was large with its bent "U" shaped curtain rail. The room also was a good temperature and the thermostat worked and we were able to maintain the temperature (unlike many hotel thermostats which either boil you, or freeze you to death).
Service
Service at the hotel was superb. I didnt see a single employee who wasnt in a great mood and helpful. I had left one of my suitcases at home and was left without my deodorant and toothbrush/toothpaste. I went down to the front desk and the employee (who was very friendly and perky despite it being midnight) gave me the needed toiletries and told me to call if I needed any more.
The rest of the hotel
The pool area of the hotel was GREAT. It was very well designed and the pool is a good size and the hot tub is also very large and comfortable (hotel spas can be a like bit nasty sometimes). There are towels available at the pool so you dont have to bring the towels from your room (love it!).
Also there is basically a "Pantry" near the check in desk where you can buy necessities, medicines, snacks, beverages, and microwaveable food for your rooms microwave (great idea!). They are reasonably priced and very convenient.
The hotel offers a morning breakfast buffet which looked very good (I didnt get it), the only problem is it is kind of expensive, but you get a lot of food. Room service is also available.
