| bizzimommi's Full Review: Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers |
I am the kind of girl who has to try everything once. Okay maybe not EVERYTHING, but when it comes to baby products, we try it all. So when Huggies introduced the New Huggies Pure and Natural diaper, my curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to know what the big difference was between the new Huggies diapers and the ones that are already on the market. So not long after I got a coupon in the mail, I went to buy a pack and give them a try.
Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers come in a jumbo package. My son wears size 5 diapers so that was what I choose for him. The jumbo size in size 5 is a 20 count package of diapers. The packaging of these diapers is made of plastic and is green and white in color. On the front of the package there is a little girl running through the grass with tree leaves above her. I have to admit that the packaging does have a rather "healthy green" look that really pulled me in. Besides being made of plastic there was a natural theme to the pack. There was a lot of information listed on the packaging of these diapers. This is the information from the front of the pack...

On the back of the package it shows a big illustration of one of the diapers and has arrows pointing to different parts of the diaper explaining what features make Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers unique. Some of the points addressed on the back of the packaging include...
*liner made of renewable materials
*soft outer cover with organic cotton
* fragrance free
*aloe and vitamin e
* less inks than other Huggies diapers
Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers are white in color. One of the first things you might notice when looking at a Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers is the light coloring of the inks that illustrate the diapers. Around the legs of the diapers are rings of green coloring. On the back of the diapers there are illustrations of small green trees and little blue birds sitting beside them. There are two different diaper designs that only differ by the illustration on the front side of the diaper. The first design is Winnie the Pooh down on his hands and knees. He has a watering can and is watering a small plant. The second design features Winnie the Pooh and Tigger playing near a puddle with a baby duck while the sun shines in the background.
When you feel the diaper you will notice that Huggies Pure and Natural diapers feel a lot more soft and cottony than other brands of diapers, and even other Huggies diapers. This must be the organic cotton that is included in the outer cover. I was surprised by the feeling of the diaper, the softness really took me by surprise.
Around the legs on the inside of the diaper there are elastic bands. These bands help to create the leak proof fit around your child's legs.While the elastic doesn't squeeze, it does hold snug to your child's legs while they run, jump and play making sure what goes in the diaper, stays in the diaper until its time to change.
In the front of the Huggies Pure and Natural diaper, at the top of waist there is a quilting pattern. This is where you attach the velcro like closures from the back of the diaper. This creates a seal that sticks until you remove it or little curious fingers take the closures off. At the top of the back side of the diaper there is move cinching like around the legs, making for the best fit for your baby and keeping the diaper from leaking from the back.
I have to say that I was completely surprised and pleased with the performance of the Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers. While wearing these diapers my son is his usual wild self and runs and jumps and plays. My son tends to drink a lot of liquids during the day, but these diapers have passed the test each and every time. I have not had a single leak from these diapers. The absorbency of these diapers is fantastic and is comparable if not surpassing Huggies Overnites diapers. During nap time, play times, long trips and more these diapers have held well, and not leaked AT ALL! For a "green" diaper this is a lot more than I expected.
Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers are just now becoming widely available. A lot of my local stores only carry these diapers in Newborn and size one which at first had fooled me into thinking that these were the only sizes made. I found the rest of the sizes available at my local Kmart store and these diapers where priced the same as all of the other types of Huggies diapers in jumbo packs. If you can find these diapers in your area, you should expect to pay about $10 for a jumbo pack, and of course diaper count will vary by what size diaper you need.
I would absolutely recommend Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers to any mom who is looking for a dependable diaper for any occasion. These diapers would be perfect for a child who has sensitive skin since they are fragrance free and made with the organic cotton. The only issue I have with Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers is that the diaper count per pack is a lot less than other Huggies diapers, so you are getting less diapers for your money. But these diapers are high quality and worth the money. If you've been curious about Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers, I would suggest giving them a try.
