| gdwtch22's Full Review: Interplak Water Jet Wj7r |
I got a wonderful deal on my Interplak water jet, so wonderful I'm going to brag a little about it now. I found my water jet on a clearance table at Linens and Things for $5.00 dollars. It was a display model. I just couldn't help myself. I took it home, disinfected every last centimeter on it and I've been in love with it ever since.
The water jet is about 1 ft. long and 1 ft. high. The water container holds exactly two cups of water (trust me, I just filled the container and poured it into a measuring bowl). It comes with four cleaning attachments, (unfortunately mine didn't come with the bonus attachment)The wands have a different color on each one, so you tell which one belongs to each member of your family. On the side of the water container are little prongs to hold the attachments while you aren't using them. There are four different power levels to chose from (I prefer the highest setting for maximum gunk removal). The lowest setting is just barely a trickle, and the highest is a true blast, but there are medium settings too. The cleaning wand is attached to a wire that runs to the machine. The wire is about two feet long. Long enough that you can put it on a shelf by the sink and still be able to hold your mouth over the sink. It plugs into an electrical outlet, so there aren't any batteries to replace.
The instructions are pretty self explanatory but I'll go into that a little. You fill the container with water (I also like to put a little bit of Listerine in with it)Make sure to put the lid back on!! You remove your attachment and put it into the wand. Choose your power setting, and turn it on. There is a button on the wand that you press when you want the water to stop coming out of the attachment so you can spit. When you do this the machine makes quite a bit of noise, which at first is a little startling, but you get used to it. When running normally the machine is fairly quiet. When you run out of water your done. I like to do this twice or even three times in a row, just to make sure I get all the gunk. I think this is the only thing I really don't like about the water jet. I think the container should hold more water. Of course if it did it would be bigger, and I don't want that either.
When I'm done using the water jet my mouth feels so clean and fresh, almost like a dentist's cleaning. I have always hated having to floss, and using the water jet let me not floss and yet get the same result. It's easy enough for my 7 year old to use, and I don't have to worry about him making a huge mess.
This is a good purchase, well worth the money even if you don't find it on a clearance table (ha ha)
