The great thing about Ivar's is the fact that it has a tradition of excellence as classic as an old love song. You know it's good and you know it's real. Whenever I go to Seattle I try to make this one of my first stops because I know the seafood is fresh and it's going to make me dream about it for a long time to come.
One of the really nice bonuses is that you can look out over Puget Sound and see all the great ships and ferry boats and fire boats and so forth dancing up and down the water lanes as you enjoy your repast, the gulls circling overhead. It all makes for a nice view to go along with the delicious treat your taste buds are savoring.
The waiters and waitresses all seem to care about the place and have an esprit de corps too. Old Ivar (whoever that guy was) did a good thing when he put a nice group of people like this together who maintain that tradition of hiring nice people to work there.
Come down by the water, and come to good old Ivar's. You'll be glad you came and you'll go away with a smile.
