| arrkaide's Full Review: JBL S-Center Center Speaker |
Finally tired of cranking up the TV volume to hear the voices for DVD movies, I opened the wallet and got a center channel speaker. I visited several local stores for some "ears" on experience. Of the different brands I listened to I really liked the JBL S-Center II. It was clear, sharp and didn't have the tinny sound like some of the others. A quick run down on the specs:
3-Way dual 5 1/4" low freq. transducer
1" pure titanium dome hi freq. transducer
4" midrange transducer
150W Amplified Power
All metal, gold-plated 5-way binding posts
15 lbs
You can get the rest off the JBL site. From movies to radio to CDs, my family and I all notice the huge difference the center channel speaker makes. Voices sound like they are literally right in front of the entertainment center. The housing is sturdy at only 15 lbs it won't strain a TV if you set the speaker on top. I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a low to mid-price range center channel speaker.
