| herrcool's Full Review: Jenga |
I've played Jenga for years as a game. It's not a new game at all. It's a reasonably fun game, and definitely different.
Jenga is a game for two or more players. Jenga is a tower of wooden rods stacked on top of each other. The object of the game is to take turns pulling out a wooden brick, then stacking it on top, making sure the tower doesn't crash. Then it's player two's turn.
The bricks can be taken from anywhere in the tower, but some bricks seem to be more stubborn than others. Some come out smoothly, others are very reluctant!
The loser is the one who, when taking a 'brick' out, lets the tower fall over. This can create a few tears, as often the tower crash is not the player's fault, as a slight movement of the wind or someone else coming into the room can turn the tower into a pick-up-sticks game.
There is a fairly common house rule to Jenga - the loser has to pick up the bricks! This is easier said than done if you're playing on a table - they fall on the floor, behind couches etc etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are playing Jenga on the kitchen table, be sure to put newspaper underneath the playing area, as the wooden bricks can make scratch marks if the surface is unprotected.
