You should hide this game from me if you want me to get things done around the house. It is a game that if left on the table, will lure me in. "Just one quick game" I say to myself. Standing next to the table I start to play, soon I will be sitting. The one quick game turns into 3 or 4 or 5... You see, I am on the quest for the "perfect game." I can't help it. It looks so simple. If I play the game alone there is no reason I shouldn't succeed. Right? Well, maybe eventually!
As much as I enjoy playing Jenga alone, this is a true FAMILY game. The rules to Jenga are easily understood. That makes it nice for younger children who want to play. My 6 year old LOVES to play Jenga. The game is quick. No long waits for turns. That is another plus when it comes to teaching turn taking games to children.
Contrary to those factors, it isn't just a children's game. My husband and I can play Jenga for hours. It is competitive.
Will it ever happen that I will play the perfect Jenga game? Can I get the stack in perfect criss-crosses? Only time and practice will tell. In the meantime, I will enjoy this game with my family. No silly cartoon figures. Queen Frostine doesn't determine the winner. Only a steady hand...and perhaps...a bit of chance.
