Pros: cooks well, nice size for a small kitchen, energy efficient

Cons: Cleaning and locking features are clearly flawed and just don't work!

The Bottom Line: Until they can fix the locking/cleaning function I have to say avoid this product.

I've had the Jenn air dual fuel double oven range since January of 2005 (3 years) and have had to have the lock mechanism replaced on the large bottom oven because it locked in the locked position after I cleaned it the first time!

Since then I have had to have service calls to repair the cleaning mechanism on both the top and bottom ovens twice! I have spent $400 on repairs in only 3 years-none of which was covered by the 1 year warranty. I actually purchased the range in October of 04 from Sears and had them hold delivery while demolition on my kitchen was under way. Even though it wasn't delivered/installed until January my November 05 service call to replace the lock was not covered because it was over 1 year from the purchase even though I only had possession of it for 10 months when I called for my first repair.

The cleaning mechanism has just failed again! I am considering getting a new range-which is too bad because I do like it otherwise. I use the small over 90% of the time which is nice because it uses less fuel and doesn't get the kitchen as hot. Although I will say the thermostat on the top oven under puts by about 25 degrees so I just adjust everything I cook by upping the temp by 25 degrees and it works fine.

The large bottom oven with convection is terrific. The convection baking is much better than the convection roasting. It reduces cooking time by only about 10% but browns beautifully and evenly. I use the convection baking for all of my cooking and roasting although when making cookies I do have to rotate the bottom pan to the top and top to bottom to ensure even browning.

The temp in the bottom appears to be true.

As for installation, as with most gas ranges that I have seen, the gas tube in the back is stiff and protrudes and makes it hard to push completely against the wall therefore it does stick out a bit from the wall--about 2 inches is as close as I can get it to the wall.

If only the cleaning function worked I would love this range. It was the only way to get a double oven into my remodeled kitchen and for that purpose along I am sure many people will love it.
