The Only Scotch I will Drink (Reply to this comment)
by fatfree49
First I will admit, I am a bourbon drinker and do not love scotch whisky. I bought a bottle of "Gold" for a friend who took me to a World Series game. He is a Johnnie Walker Black drinker. He hated it and gave it back to me. Not one to waste a $70 bottle, I began to drink it. WOW..this scotch is subtle, smooth, complex and extrmely interesting. Not that heavy smoky stuff that most Scotch drinkers love. I liked it so much, I bought another bottle. When I tire of Knob Creek bourbon, I enjoy Johnnie Gold. My friend still hates it..but what does he know?

Davids -
1. I'll probably stick with Scotch for awhile. It just looks cool a line up on my top shelf.
2. Too bad about a bad bottle of Blue. Even though some of the tastes of both Blue and Gold are strong enough that they just won't appeal to you. I'm going to have to get my own bottle of blue before I can really do a drink off between the two

For some inexplicable reason I prefer the JWGold to the JWBlue. Maybe I got a bad bottle of Blue. . . .

Not to barge back in (Reply to this comment)

But, did someone say my name?
Good to see you're still drinking. You're (again, very generally) better off drinking whisk(e)y than beer in Georgia, at least for the next few months...

Great review, Darling... but where does the tear-stained Dear John letter come from?
