| bootsers's Full Review: Johnsons Kids Spray - Watermelon Madness! |
Girls or Boys? Straight or Curly? Coarse or Fine? Which do you fight with in the morning?
I am such a naive mom. I thought boys' hair was supposed to be easy; just brush and go. WRONG! God blessed me with two wonderful boys who are night and day in every respect including hair. My oldest, curly and thick, and my youngest, straight and fine, both benefit from the No More Tangles family. Watermelon Madness was bought for the bed head child who reminds me of Dennis the Menace with the patch of hair flopping around as he skips.
Packaging
When I was a kid, No More Tangles came in a round white bottle with a picture of a girl smiling as her hair was getting combed. This was clearly aimed at the adult in the family who hated having her daughter scream and cry while untangling long hair. Fast forward twenty some years and the packaging is clearly aimed at the child. Yes, this new packaging works.
Bright green in color with delicious looking watermelon on the front picture, you would think you were buying a fruit spray candy instead of hair detangler. When given a choice of plain cold water or the watermelon spray, Watermelon Madness wins hands down. With ten ounces of fluid in a pump spray, this plastic bottle has ridges for an easy one handed grasp leaving your other hand free to keep your child from slipping away.
Does It Really Work
When spraying, Watermelon Madness comes out in a fine spray that gives you great control, just the right amount where you want it. Depending on the severity of the bed head, more than one squirt may be necessary. Using a comb over a brush spreads the mist quicker and the hair untangles faster and easier. Take care not over spray. Too much spray and your child will get a greasy look to their hair. While you don't need to rinse the detangler out, you will probably want to wash your child's hair at night when you use it to avoid build up.
Watermelon Madness has a pleasing scent, but I could not define the watermelon. It was however, definitely better than the old No More Tangles smell. The scent is especially helpful on the nights your little one escapes the evil hair washing monster. A couple sprays to tame the mane and it also glosses over any leftover smells from the previous day.
Bottom Line
Coupon shopping and sales come in especially handy when I go to buy something that I want but don’t need. At about $3 a bottle, Watermelon Madness makes my life easier but isn’t a necessity. It will get rid of the bed head and the tangles, leave a fresh smell and won’t cause any tears. Working quicker than water and producing a happy face on a child, maybe Watermelon Madness is a necessity for a working mom.
