Buy a JVC unit instead

Pros: Once you get the sound levels manually set, it doesn't sound bad
Cons: Bad interface, bad presets, ate my mp3 disk, skips constantly
The Bottom Line: I'd say there are much better units out there for the price that blow this one away.

I had this unit put into my car for a few days while I was waiting for my JVC KD-SH707 to ship in. They had installed MB-QUARTZ speakers and a tweeter kit, so I wsn't lacking for quality in that area.
Immediately, this thing grated on my nerves. I noticed right off the sound was tinny and flat. I tried the presets, but they made little or no difference in the sound quality. I couldn't figure out how to manually set the treble, bass and mid tones until a day later. Once those were set, then the unit did sound better. But not high end.
Since it claimed to play MP3's, i popped a cd-r in with a bunch of MP3's on it. It sucked it in and refused to either play it or to give it back. The car stereo place that loaned it to me had to dig it out of the unit. Oddly, it still played regualr cd's after it swallowed my MP3's. Weird.
the detatchable faceplate seemed flimsy and it's not motorized like the JVC unit. The ATT feature was simply confusing. On the JVC, not only can you immediately turn down the volume, but you can angle the faceplate out at different angles for ease of use. Very cool. For a similar price, this thing doesn't come close.
