| jmdmarcel's Full Review: Kirkland Signature Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookwar... |
I purchased the Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware set as a gift for my daughter. They looked like they were of good quality. They performed very well on all normal cooking practices. Unfortunately, one day my daughter decided to steam some vegetables, but forgot to put water into the bottom pot. After a while, she checked to see how the steaming of her vegetables was going and realized that she had forgotten to add water to the base pot. She immediately lifted the pot off the stove element and upon doing this, a stream of molten aluminum drained from the pot's base onto her linoleum floor. The molten aluminum splattered across the kitchen floor and burned spots in the linoleum wherever it settled before cooling. It was lucky for my daughter that she stepped on only one small spot with one of her bare feet. This caused a minor burn. This situation could have caused a major fire or worse, she could have been very seriously injured. I believe these pots and pans should be recalled and refunded.
