Yes, less power maybe needed to drive them. However, they still did sound brighter in my opinion compared to other speakers that I've heard within the price range.

I'm just a touch confused. Are you saying that other speakers in this price range roll off in the high frequencies more quickly than Klipschs, with their horn tweeters? I haven't found this to be the case. I thought the best argument for horn speakers was their sensitivity. Note that most speakers have a rated sensitivity of about 86 to 90 db, while the Klipschs are rated at 99 db. This should mean you can get away with a much less powerful amplifier. 10 watts with a 99 db rated speaker is the same as 80 watts with a 90 db rated speaker, assuming all other things are equal. There are several $1000 speakers that do not roll off in the highs, including those by Cambridge Soundworks, Polk, Energy and Meadowlark. They don't have 99 db sensitivity ratings, though.
