rmdecastro's Full Review: Klipsch RF-5 Main / Stereo Speaker
I ended buying these speakers after testing 2 or 3 different brands looking to upgrade my home theater set.
Fist I tested a Yamaha all in one 5.1 set that was too weak for my receiver, than tried different Klipsch models and ended trying the RF5's at home for a whole weekend, which convinced me so much that I ended going back to the dealer and getting a complete system including an RC7 center channel, a pair of RS7 surrounds and a RSW15 sub, that I'm moving with a Harman Kardom AVR325, it sounds awesome!
This is an A for home theater purposes. The high quality ceramic alloy speaker technology is also used by other renown HI-FI brands as British Monitor Audio, and when you add that you'll be listening to a set whichs average sensitivity is 98 db, it means that it will run just fine without the need of super powerful amplification, a fine quality receiver with 50 watts per channel would make it sound so nice that you will always prefer to wait for the movies to get into DVD and than enjoy them at home.
These speakers musical sound is not too impressive, a so high (99 dB) sensibility ends affecting the mid sound quality, making them perform too bright in the highs and over punching in the lows, this can be resolved placing them away of any wall (around 3-4 feet) and listening them a little far (3-4 meters), which means they're space hungry.
