Pros: Picture Quality, Size, Features, Balance in your hand.
Cons: Vague explanation of features, camera locks up.
The Bottom Line: I'll stick with the camera for now, but it will be out the door soon. I wouldn't recommend this camera for anyone buying their first digital.
aries98's Full Review: Kodak EasyShare C743 Digital Camera
I bought the Kodak C743 bundled with the Kodak Easy Share G600 as a gift for my wife. I made the purchase on-line at Kodak.com. First thing I noticed as I started assembling printers and camera, was the lack of information in the user manuals. The camera takes great pictures, and captures moving action with virtually no blurring, or very little. The video mode is okay, and includes sound, but the camera will not allow you to zoom. I have a VuPoint camera that I bought at a truck stop with fuel points that will even allow video zooming. After taking several photos and loading the software into my computer, I was ready to test the software for photo editing and creative projects. I connected the camera to my computer via USB cable provided and nothing. Just a blinking red light. So I go to the troubleshooting section of the users manual. No mention of a blinking light. Apparently Kodak only recognizes three problems that you might have with the camera, and none of them include a blinking red light. They do tell you to check the batteries, but that wasn't the problem, and I still do not know why the camera will not download to my computer. Instead, I had to transfer all the images to the SD card, then insert the SD card in my computers slot, and got the images that way. There are only 21 pages of instruction in the camera manual, not including the spec page. There is this nice big red button on the back of the camera labeled "SHARE". Guess what? No mention if whether this button is for just the printer dock, the computer link up, or both. I did pick a photo, and print it out on the G600 printer, and was very impressed with the final results of the photo. I think for the money, the camera will suffice, but I am very frustrated with the lack of instruction pertaining to the use of features.
