I recently completed a "Bike The Sites" bike tour of the monuments, and the Korean War Memorial was the only one we didn't stop and take a closer look at.
I was moved to return, since I had never been there before.
Those 19 7'3" figures you mentioned are a bit larger than life, because during the day, their reflection comes out life sized in the granite. Those 19, plus their 19 reflections equals 38, for the 38th parallel and for the roughly 38 months the war lasted.

Great review-- a very accurate reflection of what you'll see and how you'll feel.

National Parks we finally bought a passport but AFTER we went here. I'm so compulsive I now feel like I have to go back to them all to get them stamped. I asked if they can be stamped somehow and actually you can buy stamps for each park (not the same as having them stamped but second best) but it's really expensive to do it that way because you can only buy them in packs rather than specify which ones you want. That's dumb, really, why not just be able to order the ones I'm missing. Well anyway, great review. Maybe on the way to Florida I can run over and get it stamped! jo

My Dad is a veteran of this 'war'. The British don't give it much importance either even though 1,000 British troops lost their lives.

I appreciate this review. I just lost my Dad who was a veteran of this war. Nicely done, as always!
