Korres Quince Body Butter - serious hydrating for a serious price!
Written: Aug 19 '09
Product Rating:
Pros: crazy hydrating; amazing for very dry skin
Cons: expensive; not in love with the scent
The Bottom Line: I'd only recommend this one to those who are looking for a seriously hydrating body cream. This not your average Body Butter and it has a rather hefty price tag.
bops_mom's Full Review: Korres Quince Body Butter Quince 1.69 oz
So after falling head over heels in love with Korres Lip Butter in Quince I was curious to try something in the same scent as well to try more products from Korres. Korres Quince Body Butter fit that bill perfectly and so it was my next Korres purchase.
Product Info
I purchased my Korres Quince Body Butter in the smallest size available which is a tube of 1.69 oz. It cost me $9.50 which is rather pricey in my opinion. I’m not sure what I was thinking shelling out almost $10 for less than 2 oz. of body cream – but the fact remains that in a moment of Sephora.com shopping nirvana I ordered it. When I ordered it, there was a larger size also available which is either out of stock or no longer available on Sephora.com
Korres Quince Body Butter is silicone free, mineral oil free, propylene glycol free and ethanolamine free.

My Experience
Korres Quince Body Butter is a very thick, heavy white cream. I have super dry skin, so this is usually my cup of tea; that said Korres Quince Body Butter kind of takes the cake in how thick it is. When applying you have to really rub it around until it almost melts into your skin or else you’d be left with skin that looks like it’s been topped with cold cream. Once Korres Quince Body Butter was rubbed in to my skin I could actually feel it for a few minutes until it was mostly absorbed. This is a new one for me and I’ve tired all the heavy body butters from The Body Shop. What I was left with was some seriously hydrated skin that felt softer and smoother than it had felt in… gosh, probably years. I’ll give it to Korres - they’re taking Body Butters to a whole new level.
At first the scent of Korres Quince Body Butter is a bit heavy for my tastes. And I’ll admit that I had expected Korres Quince Body Butter to smell just like Korres Quince Lip Butter. It doesn’t. I suppose it is close ~ fairly close even, but Korres Quince Body Butter has more of a floral tone to it which I did not expect. I’m not really into floral scents so I cannot say that I think the smell is amazing. It is nice, is it pleasing. There are definitely fruity hints but the floral notes take over for me. All of that makes me thankful and happy that the scent of Korres Quince Body Butter fades. Within an hour or two I can hardly smell it at all and by the end of the day there is no scent to be detected.
And so…
I like Korres Quince Body Butter. I’m not in love with the scent but would perhaps like to try it in another scent some day. The price is a bit outrageous if you ask me but I have to mention that since Korres Body Butter is such an incredibly thick cream you really don’t need much at all to cover and hydrate the skin. Unlike many body butters from The Body Shop I would say Korres Quince Body Butter is only for those with dry skin – maybe even only those with really dry skin.
Should you try it? Maybe…. Maybe if you have the extra cash you just really need to spend. Or perhaps if you have crazy dry skin and just haven’t been able to find a body cream that is hydrating enough for you. Otherwise, you’re probably ok skipping Korres Body Butter.
