Wonderphone by sourcitrus | Dec 07 '01 Pros: Features galore yet easy to use. The antenna doesn't stick out. Cons: Not any really. The software has a couple of minor bugs, and it's expensive.

Keypad auto-locking (Reply to this comment)

Nice thorough review. I especially liked the way you set the phone in context: what you were looking for, what you weren't.
I think I might have written the review that "griped" about the lack of keypad auto-locking. That was not my intention, I'm very happy with the phone (but you're not the only person who picked up on that part of my review).
The phone has a flexible auto-lock or key-guard feature. You can disable it or specify a 1, 2 or 3 minute interval of inactivity before it automatically locks the keypad and requires you to press 1-2-3 to re-enable it. This prevents accidental keypresses and works quite nicely.
You can also specify a "security code," and require it before dialing certain contacts or dialing anyone other than predefined contacts. You can also lock the phone altogether and specify that whenever the phone is turned on the user must enter the code. Again, this is all very good.
I just wished Kyocera had combined the two: after a certain period of inactivity, instead of requiring 1-2-3 require the secret security code.
I left my previous cell phone on a bus, and whoever found it just kept it. I canceled the service and everything, but I couldn't help but think that if someone had found it and discovered it to be locked, they might just leave it alone, increasing my chances of getting it back.
