| LoreenP's Full Review: Leap Frog Leappad Learning System |
How many toys out there can help a child sound out a word, learn to make the "th" sound, teach them to play music, play matching, read to them, and with different sounds and levels? Sound like a good teacher you know? Well, it's here in the Leappad. During last holiday's toy buying boom, the Leappad was hard to find, but somehow I found it by chance at Targer for $40. It was the best educational toy she received last year and it still surprises me with what it can do.
She is 4 1/2 but can already read since I homeschool her, but she still enjoys using the touchpen and touching each letter to hear it's sound it makes, or running it across the word to hear the entire word. Next minute, she is reading Winnie the Pooh, in Winnie's voice and playing the matching games within this one book.
You can purchase more educational books as they progress and each one is packed with fun lessons, keeping the child engaged for longer periods of time.
Definately a plus in this household.
