Pros: Petite, pretty, my son loves her, more detail than some of the other engines.
Cons: The face on mine is off center, smoke stack feels like it might come lose.
The Bottom Line: Perhaps not as perfect as some of the other Learning Curve engines, Lady is still a must have for fans of the Thomas & the Magic Railroad movie.

| dagny21's Full Review: Learning Curve Thomas and Friends Lady June |
My son's introduction to Thomas the Tank Engine was through the rather awful movie (my opinion, not my child's) Thomas & The Magic Railroad. So, when I decided to start him on the Thomas & Friends wooden railway system this Christmas, Lady was on the top of my list entitled "Characters to Buy."
What You Get
In the movie, Lady appears to be significantly smaller than Thomas, and so is the wooden version. She is a petite and delicate 2 inches long, and though it would seem wrong for her to be larger, this does make one a little hesitant to pay the usual list price of around $12 dollars. I was thrilled, therefor, to find her on sale for $7.99.
Collectors will be happy to note that Lady comes in a special "Thomas & the Magic Railroad" box, complete with a character card.
Lady is purple and gold, and like all of Learning Curves engines she is expertly painted and comes with an unconditional lifetime guarantee against breakage or any sort of damage, including paint-chipping, which almost always occurs with play.
2 Minor Complaints
The face piece on my Lady is far enough off center that I noticed it almost immediately. However, I don't expect my son to ever notice it, and since I've already given her to him, I can't bear to take her away and send her back for a replacement.
The smoke stack on all other Thomas & Friends steam engines is a part of the whole plastic piece that the face is attached to. Not so on Lady. Lady's smokestack is a very small, clearly separate piece of painted wood that appears to be glued to the rest. When I gently push on the top of the stack, I can feel a little give. It's a small enough piece that although I wouldn't want my son to swallow it, he's not in any danger of choking should it eventually break off. Of course, if it ever does come off, I have no doubt that Learning Curve will replace her for me.
Our Experience
My son loves Lady more than most of the other engines. I don't really get why, but it's obvious. She is the lead in his line of trains most often, she goes through more tunnels, and she's the train he most often elects to take with him to bed, in the car, and to the dinner table (yes, we spoil him!). He will stop her in front of his little Sir Topham Hatt and say "Hi Top'm 'at! Hi Yay-ee!" in his sweet two year old voice.
Watching how well and creatively our son plays with any of the Thomas & Friends toys from Learning Curve makes them well worth their high prices, and Lady is no exception.
