| tigresslarue's Full Review: Leona's Original Pizza |
We are dining in connoisseurs, if I do say so myself, and have tried virtually every place that will deliver to our home. Leona's is hit or miss.
Service:
They need to work on consistency. We called once, and attempted to order using the online menu. I kid you not, of the 4 items we attempted to order, we were told they no longer made any of them. They then offered to try to "recreate" one of the dishes (Chicken Caesar Sandwich) and sent us a dry chicken breast on a bun, with a side cup of takeout caesar dressing. Also, delivery regularly takes over an hour, and I've even waited almost 2 hours!!! Absolutely unexcusable.
Menu:
Their saving grace--one of the most extensive menus I have ever seen. From pasta (make your own or preset dishes) to fried chicken to sandwiches to pizza to Italian dinner, salads, oh my! They have a LOT of food to choose from.
Food Quality:
Again, hit or miss. The pizza is pretty good (get the Sicilian) but I've already told you about the Chicken Caesar Fiasco. The pastas are tricky. They're always really good when I first open them, but after about 7 bites I start to feel ill. And I'm a big eater, so getting full is not the problem. Also, when you order for delivery, the potato wedges tend to be soggy and kind of cold. We did order the strawberry shortcake dessert once, which was very good, but I'm altogether unimpressed with the main courses.
Price:
In my opinion, this place is overpriced. If I wanted to wait an hour and a half to eat, and spend $12 on a meal, I'd go out! Plus, I'm not sure if there's a delivery charge, but I always feel like when they get here the charge is WAY more than I anticipated it being.
In closing, if you're trying to please a large crowd and need variety, Leona's isn't bad, but for the price and quality of the food, its just not worth it. Order Ranalli's!

Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations Don''t order at a busy time, you''ll wait forever! The desserts and pizza are probably the best items on the menu. Best Suited For: Large Group
