Pros: Elgible restaurant for those on the the Disney's dining plan
Cons: Overcooked salty food, tables too small
The Bottom Line: I would have rather had a microwaved hot dog.

| xyzwyatt's Full Review: Les Chefs de France |
This restaurant is located inside Walt Disney World's Epcot so admission to the theme park is required to dine. It is also a very busy tiny restaurant so it's best to make reservations in advance. Reservations can be made by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE. This restaurant is an eligible sit-down restaurant on the Disney dining plan. Les Chefs de France is open for lunch and dinner. The lunch menu offer sandwiches and lighter meals. The dinner menu offers a few choices in the following categories: seafood, meat and poultry, or vegetarian. The menu and prices can be found online and may change before your arrival.
Approximate dinner pricing: appetizer $10, soup or salad $6, main entrée $30, sodas $3, dessert $7. I called the dine line for reservations months in advance but it took several calls to get seats to accommodate a party of 5. The representative wanted to book 2 reservations and she could not guarantee that we would be seated together. Seems to me if you're paying a couple of hundred dollars for dinner you should be able to sit together. When we arrived it was clear why I had so much trouble getting seats. We arrived early for our reservations so we stopped at the front to let the hostess know that we would be making our reservation as courtesy, and like we were told on the phone to do. We were rudely told by the hostess that it wasn't time for us to be seated and we needed to go wait out in the rain. The restaurant opened the doors at 5 p.m. and started seating the families all at once. I believe that they do it this way so they can pack more people in the doors like sardines. This worked fine but we sure didn't feel special. This is a tiny restaurant. There was very little room in the building, the tables were small, and the chair arrangement was tight. Seriously, should your placemats overlap when you're fine dining? Despite being a party of 5, and making arrangements for such, we were still seated at a table for 4. I feel so sorry for the group sitting next to us. We were so close that if we both put up our elbows they would touch. I could hear every word they said. The closeness was worse for them than it was for us, I'm sure. They were a young group with no children and I'm sure they were not pleased with the noise from our table nor the bread crumbs that my daughter was scattering all over them. I started out with lobster bisque soup which was ok. I had the broiled salmon, tomato bearnaise, ratatouille made with onions, zucchini, eggplant and bell peppers for $27.95. The ratatouille looked like it was regurgitated. I managed one bite and it indeed tasted horrid. I am a lover of all that is food and I don't think there has ever been a time when I didn't eat a dish due to taste. It was severely mushy and just wasn't edible. My husband and son, both big meat eaters, ordered grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce, potato gratin, and green beans priced at $34.95. Neither could stand it. I tasted it myself and it had an extremely salty gravy over it which totally killed the dish. The lady taking reservations implied there would be a big show so I would want to take a certain dinner reservation time so that we could see it. The show actually ended up being one song. Cute, but hardly worth revolving my meal around. We had a pretty young waitress with a French accent. She had a bit of an attitude and didn't clear things very quickly off of our itsty-bitty table. Our waitress of course could tell we did not like our dinners so she just never showed back up until so much time past that we just wanted to leave. We have eaten at many restaurants but this is by far the most expensive disgusting dinner the family has ever had. The atmosphere was terrible, and the food was worse.
