Pros: THE BEST NO QUESTIONS
Cons: I preferred the older white formula, it applied easier. All and all this is irrelevant.
The Bottom Line: You will never use anything else!!!

| merrickm's Full Review: Liquid Glass Polish/Finish |
I originally started using liquid glass after it was recommended by the guy who painted my 67 Mustang convertible. At the time it was very difficult to find but I found it at a local auto paint store. I begrudgingly shelled out 28 dollars for the product and was skeptical to say the least. Upon returning home I followed the instructions that my buddy had given me. It was newly cured paint so no precleaning was necessary. I applied in straight lines as instructed, buffed off and baked in the sun for several hours afterward. The results were stunning! Near photographic reflections that included both image and dense color of the image. It was almost too distracting to drive down a wooded street as the branches would pass buy in the hood. Later I ran into my buddy at a car show and he told me that unlike wax, which builds up and dulls the finish, the more you apply the better it gets. At the time I was a high school student that had way too much time on my hands so I applied after every time I washed my pampered car (nearly weekly). To my amazement it did exactly what he said it would the shine got more polished and substantially deeper with every application. After racking up nearly 200K miles on the restoration (later mileage downright abusive no washing, no waxing ect.) the floors and frame rails started to rust out again, and I put the car into a backstreet unoccupied garage that someone offered me the space in. There it sat UNCOVERED for 6 years!! I recently went over to get the car so I could take pictures as I was going to sell it on EBAY. I took the car to my house and carefully spent several days cleaning it up to take pictures. I finally got it washed off and the finish was so unbelievable that the nostalgia of my time with the car caused me to put it back into storage (properly covered this time) to await another restoration effort.
My Grandfather was so impressed with what I had done wax wise on my Mustang that he had me start doing his Brand new Pontiac 6000 STE which was very cutting edge for its time as it was one of the first cars I had ever seen go with the monochromatic look of having everything painted body color. I tediously liquid glassed every square inch of every molding, body panel, bumpers, wheels, inside door edges, and kick plate areas ect. The car was flawless monochromatic white. I did this for him approximately once a year after and initial double application, it looked stunning. My uncle came into town for a while and had used the car while in town for a couple days. On his way back to the house one night he hit something in the road. Upon returning to the house we discovered it to have been a can of RED SPRAYPAINT that had exploded all over the side of the car and the very intricate wheels (you would almost have had to wax one to understand). The paint had already dried as we originally tried to wipe it off with some old towels and t-shirts to no avail. We fired up a bucket of DAWN dishwashing soap and a wash mitt and with some scrubbing we were able to remove every drop of the paint. My grandfather was in awe. This was applied to every car he ever owned after that with similar results.
Having had such good experiences I continued to use liquid glass on all of our family cars. Fairly recently, I had been applying it to my wifes White Oldsmobile Alero. One night some neighborhood kids decided, or perhaps accidentally threw an 18 strand of black cat like fire crackers on the hood of the car. They went off and burned the heck out of the hood. It actually looked like it had been on fire.. It was so bad the next morning I started calling junkyards to see if I could score a white one I could just bolt on. I could only find yards that would call me if they got one. Remembering the experience with my grandfathers car. I jokingly set out to try my luck. It was a lot of work but I got EVERY single mark and burned spot out of that hood It looked like brand new with no paint work whatsoever.
I just recently purchased a Lincoln LS that I have wanted and intend to keep for quite some time. So I figured I would go online and find out what the new best car protectant is and go pick some up. After reading hundreds of reviews The best is still the best and I was inspired to opine. I will be buying a new can of liquid glass today. I dont care what consumer reports or anyone else says. Oh wait they said they found the best and LG was not even on the list.. I have cancelled my CR subscription due to this HUGE oversight on their part, as I have no Idea how many times they have made a similar omission on a product I am considering.
YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
