| lepene's Full Review: Long Trail Double Bag |
First off, Double Bag... what kind of name is that? Surely a beer with two cows, bags hanging, on the label has got to be worth a try. So try it I did at the insistence of some of my friends back in Hanover. And was I ever surprised. Double Bag delivers a wonderful taste and get this, as an added bonus twice the alcoholic content (see where the double comes in?).
Having spent four years in Hanover, New Hampshire just across the river from Vermont I had the pleasure of trying many of the fine beers coming out of Vermont. Long Trail always found its way to the top of my list. I've yet to find a variety I didn't like (in comparison see my view of Saranac's Winter Wassail.) In fact the Long Trail brewery became a regular stop for my friends and I on the way home from a day of skiing at Killington. Not only for the cheap prices but because they offered something you could not get anywhere else... Double Bag on tap. I can't thing of a better end to a day of skiing than relaxing at Long Trail and buying rounds of Double Bag.
Next time you are in the area swing through the brewery and relax a bit or pick some up at your beer store... you'll be glad you did.
