Pros: nice service, beautiful lobby
Cons: not worth the money
The Bottom Line: Don't pay $200 for a room you can get for $80 someplace else

I stayed at this hotel with my family for free because my dad had a meeting to go to there and they offered him a free room. I was very thankful that it was only one night!
The minute we pulled up an employee came and retrieved our bags from the trunk. He was very nice, although he hardly spoke any English (he spoke Spanish). He brought our bags up to our room on the second floor! I've never had anyone do that before.
The lobby was huge. We waited to check in for only 5 minutes. However, it was a Wednesday around 11:00am. We were told our room was on the second floor. We went upstairs and found our room. It was located right in front of this huge reception/ballroom area where my dad's meeting had lunch, dinner, and cocktails. It was also right above the man playing the piano in the lobby. This man played from 7:00am to 11pm. Forget about sleeping late or going to bed early.
The room was ok. It was a double with two Queen sized beds. Our first thought was that it was freezing in there! After we got the temperature corrected we looked around and could not believe someone would actually pay $200+ a night to stay in this room. Sure the interior design was done nice, but the beds were just as comfortable as an $80 a night place. The bathroom was clean with soft towels and free coffee, but still, nothing more than what you can get for $80. We had a 27 inch TV. There was no microwave or mini fridge.
They did have room service. The menu was outrageous with prices! $20 for a hamburger, $16 for what sounded like the same meal at Denny's for $3.99 (pancake, eggs, sausage). There was no free continental breakfast like you get at those $80 a night places either.
There was a restaurant, indoor pool, outdoor pool, exercise gym, and ballrooms that we never used. All were on the second floor.
The location was right in the heart of uptown Houston, near malls, parks, and just a 15-minute drive away from downtown. There is a giant 610 loop right in front of the hotel, so if traffic noises bother you than this place is not for you.
I think this hotel is good for people who are on business trips (where the company is paying for the room). I would not recommend this room to families or anyone who has to pay for it out of their own pocket. Please save your money and go somewhere else. If you want the service and amenities this hotel offers regardless of price than go ahead and pay for it.
I'm giving this hotel 3 stars because of the service, amenities, interior design, and cleanliness. However I am not recommending it due to the fact that I wasn't too impressed with anything else.
