| canadiangirl1's Full Review: Mary Kay Signature??? Lip Polish |
My assistant is a Mary Kay rep and she bought some "Blushing" Lip Polish for herself but didn't like the way it looked on her. She brought it in for me to try and I loved it! I find it lasts very well as long as you don't put balm on first, and the colour is very versatile. I didn't think I'd be able to wear it because it looks "brown", however, it is quite neutral once applied.
It feels like nothing once applied. I've applied balm and gloss on top of it, which works if your lips are feeling a bit dry, but it does tend to affect the durability.
The taste / scent is neutral and the texture is much lighter than a lipstick. Once it's on, it doesn't draw much attention to itself due to those issues.
I am fairly hard on my lipstick so your mileage may vary, but I can go about 5 or 6 hours without reapplying this stuff. It doesn't disappear all at once, either, unlike some lipsticks where you can check it one minute and it will be gone the next.
I tried to order more but they are sold out of the "Blushing" shade and it was a limited-edition product so it's doubtful it will be back. I bought the "Red Ribbon" shade but I find it too bright for everyday wear.
The applicator took a bit of getting used to for me, because I usually use lipstick and not the little baton-type applicators.
This product works best with a lip liner.
If you get lucky and can find this somewhere, or if Mary Kay reconsiders and offers this product again, give it a try!
