I have a bad habit of having to buy the matching conditioner to whatever shampoo I get. Why is it a bad habit? Because it is usually expensive and doesn't always give the results I want.
When I bought Matrix Curl Life Shampoo at the salon, I, also, bought Matrix Curl Life Conditioner. It added $10 for a 13.5 oz bottle to my bill.
Curl.life Conditioner claim:
Curl.life Conditioner detangles each curl as it moisturizes and smoothes the cuticle. Styling agents define curls and control frizz.
Control?
This conditioner doesn't control...it takes my wavy hair and whips it relentlessly into a limp mess. If I use a small quarter size amount in my thick hair it still doesn't give it any life. Curl Life Conditioner weighs my hair down and takes the wave out of it. I try rinsing my hair twice after using it, but my hair is still lifeless after I dry it.
It does detangle my hair. I, usually, have a hard time getting a brush through my hair. This conditioner makes my hair easy to comb through. To bad it makes my hair look like it's in need of a washing after it dries.
The cucumber scent, while not offensive, doesn't make my husband notice it like other conditioners I've used in the past. (It's really hard to believe he isn't noticing a food smell!)
Anyway...
I definitely wouldn't make a special trip to my salon to find the Matrix Curl.life products. In fact, even if I had to go the salon I wouldn't buy this product again. I'll give Matrix Curl Life Conditioner 2 stars for it's detangling power...but, if your looking for something to help your wavy or curly hair pass it by!
