| pollywogger's Full Review: Maytag MDB7600A Jetclean® II 24 in. Built-in ... |
I would tell anyone that is considering a Maytag product to reconsider!! I paid about $600.00 in March, 2005 and I am 25 months into my dishwasher purchase. Now this is the second time I've had a problem with the top rack wheels! When I tried to get the $2.00 part, I was told they no longer exist and that they have "re-engineered" the top rack system. I said I wasn't surprised as it was junk!! They want me to pay for a whole new top rack system and said it is going to be around $150.00
I said that if I bought a new car for $40,000.00 and two years later I had to put in 25% of the original value ($10,000.00), I would be seeking a lawyer is the car manufacturer wouldn't come good for the faulty defect that they have re-engineered, which is basically what Maytag is asking me to do. I will never again buy a Maytag dishwasher!
I have read other posts on this model and I can say that I have been lucky enough to have not had those problems myself, but nonetheless, the faulty top rack system that Maytag representatives do not want to acknowledge as being faulty. These racks should be covered if after 2 years the company decides to change the engineering of the racks and will not supply the consumer with the $2.00 part on the original system! A Maytag consumer should not be held liable for a defective rack and be forced to pay a quarter of the original buying price. All I can say is research your potential purchase and keep all records!
