Madrob: These machines cost too much to put up with that kind of nonsense. My suggestion is that you call your dealer, describe your problems to date, and demand that they REPLACE your faulty machine with another unit. If they give you problems on this, go straight to the top of the management chain.
So far, knock on wood, we've had no problems--not even the one you cite on wrinkled jeans. Still, we aren't even to the 6-week mark yet.

The location of the lint trap is important. I really dislike the location on my Kenmore dryer (like on your old dryer, it's in the rear back), and the emerging cloud of dust while trying to remove it! This one sounds like a winner!
