| cbarker's Full Review: Michelin Cross Terrain SUV Truck/SUV Tire |
I have a 2000 NIssan Frontier Crew cab pickup that came with General Grabber AW tires from the dealer. These were ok, or at least I thought they were until I put on the Michelin Cross Terrains.
The first thing that I noticed was the ride was much smoother and I was surprised by how much quieter it was in the truck. I had not realized how much noise the General's generated until I rode with the Michelin's.
So far I only have about 1,000 miles on the Cross Terrains, but traction in dry and wet conditions is VASTLY improved over the Generals and I would recommend these to anyone that wants a smooth, quiet tire with plenty of grip for tight curves at top speed.
UPDATED:
Ok, I have had these tires for over 65,000 miles so far and they still work as great as the day I got them. Treadwear is starting to show, but I suspect there is another 15-20k in them, the wear bars are still a ways down, so I will keep them.
The only change I have noticed in the last year or so is that I now get a little noise whenever I run over the white or yellow lines on the road. May be coincidental that this is the case as it may concur with a new additive to the line paint to wake up nodding drivers, but wanted to include everything.
Haven't had a single flat or any other problem with the tires. I will certainly buy another set whenever these wear out, which may still be a while.
