*laugh!*

I think what really distressed me about the book was the bio in the back that stated that this woman was a college-level creative writing teacher. GAAAH!

Thanks for reading!

. . . to tell me that all readers are not entranced by the academically-oriented literary style of the typical doctoral dissertation?

Perish the thought!

My intense reaction to your posting can be simply stated in one three-word sentence.

I like it!

It really felt like she was just babbling, not stopping to think about what she said at all. A shame, because she started off with a couple of good ideas that quickly got lost in the rambling.

Aha!

I like that answer. *grin*

It's my pleasure to be able to warn people away from this one. I was thinking at first that it distressed me that this woman teaches writing, given how much better she really needs to be before further publication. On the other hand, though, the mini-bio in the book listed something like three different colleges she's taught at. So maybe they've been catching on to her... ;)

Oh, dear. It sounds like she was very distracted while writing some parts of this book, to say the very least. Doesn't inspire much confidence in the rest of her advice, that's for sure!

"The Cherokee Indians have a symbol with a star in the middle. The star has seven points and ends with the number 9!"

It means 47.

Or that's my take, anyway.

Excellent review, and work I shall certainly avoid - thanks for sharing. :)

Why yes - picky and proud of it! *grin* "Picky Persons Anonymous" - that's what we need. I was disappointed - it sounded like an interesting book. Sigh...

Bad editing and repeated quotes and nonsensical statements? What are you, picky or something? :)
